More of a massive tutorial than a structured course. Brad talks through the steps he takes as he builds a static site using HTML/CSS/Bootstrap and then turns it into a working WordPress theme. Around half of the video is “Legacy” so not relevant to the site that is being built in the NEW sections but has to be watched if you want all the coding tips, which is tedious. At one point you are told to refer to something you coded earlier but there is nothing in the previous sections that resembles it. If you like watching someone showing what they can do very quickly as you try to follow along, pausing frequently to catch up and using Google searches to help make sense of what you are being shown then you’ll like this. If you are looking for properly explained concepts that build on one another allowing you to be confident of your understanding and ability at each stage before moving on look elsewhere.

I have not seen the “original” course, however, the new one was great and good to follow 😉

The original course is already a winner.
Then, the updated course with Elementor is a sure win as well. Thanks!

So far, I feel like I’m supposed to know code before embarking on this class journey or I was supposed to purchase a first part course. The project setup is very “copy-paste” without explanation, maybe it will make more sense as I keep taking this course? the course description states “All Levels” but its probably suited for students that are familiar to this.

Great as a refresher on bootstrap and WordPress, but I wish instructor would focus more on fundamentals. Brad is a fantastic presenter and I liked to listen to his explanations and jokes but one definetely needs to have some experience with php and WordPress to properly understand everything. Also I think the instructor shouldn’t copy and paste chunks of code so much but rather type it manually as it often gets too difficult to follow. Thankfully Brad reads almost every line of code (which doesn’t help enough as you need to research further) so it starts to resemble a code walkthrough. Also I really liked the elementor widgets sections as it is here everything is structured properly – going from basics to advanced, some coding challenges etc..

Brad is very good at presenting this topic. He doesn’t dwell on the fundamentals, as it is assumed you know this, but does giving a quick refresher on some stuff. He gets right to the the concepts that this course is designed to provide and keeps the course moving along at a good pace.

even at 1x speed this moves so quickly I had to rewind it a few times like a traversy video.
Also, some of the links like atom, bootsrap and jquery are updated (jquery and bootstrap, so the version numbers need to be updated in the script src code on the html) or dead (atom has been put to sleep) .
I know this was a quick tut, but showing how to access the info in flaticon would have been nice. instead of just breezing thru. haven’t gone ahead yet, but not sure what bootstrap is quite for yet, or if these are just practices or just your normal work flow but it’d be nice to know if this is how you normally work so we can start good practices.

I’m super dumb with script writing even though I’m only 20. But Brad is explaining everything very well and in a fun personality that’s easy to follow.

I think that this course covers lots of different topics but does it a little to quickly and I feel like a lot of things are skipped over or not explained.

Didn’t finish this course. Too dated. Brad tells us to use old versions of software and then work out how to update them.
