Derrick is great at explaining the design process with steps and scenarios using the design programs to reach final results. I especially appreciate the explanation of setting files up for printers with bleed, slug, and printer marks. The printer setup for specialty printing (emboss, foil, etc) is VERY helpful!

This course was really helpful but I believe it was on an old version so it was a little difficult for a beginner like me to find specific settings but it was worth it. Thank you Derrick for creating this course.

I’ve been learning a lot since I started taking this course. Thank you very much for being such a good teacher 🙂

I had more expectations from this course. I feel that I wasted my time and money. Sorry, but that’s what I feel.

Basically i started this course because i thought it was for beginners but its not. He is too fast for the people who are using these softwares for the first time so I am pretty disappointed. But for the people who are fast enough to catch up or have a bit idea about softwares the lectures are good

This instructor teaches perception and workflow; I like how each demonstration is more with less followed by experimentation.

This course is a great basic course for the beginner who is trying to get into graphic design. It goes over a good chunk of the tools that are available in Adobe. Keep in mind though that true artistic talent is not necessarily learned, and Derrick is extremely talented. He does a great job of explaining things so even those of us who aren’t talented can understand and feel like we can actually do this. Great course.

This course is beginner friendly for those wanting to learn the basics and understanding of Graphic Design without the pressure of how good you need to be but simply being creative and expressive with your works.

The instructor moves through things way too quickly for a beginner course. I have to constantly rewind or play at .75 speed in order to keep up. I wish this course started with more of the design theory before jumping into the programs, that way we would have a foundation of design before actually designing something. I think he said he’ll get to the theory, but to me the order doesn’t make sense.

This course was a great match. I feel more confident in my skills in Adobe. I’ve worked with Adobe previously but always came in contact with errors and could not figure out what I was doing wrong and this course identified all of the mistakes I was making. I would recommend this course to all beginners wanting to learn more about the program. I would also make the suggestion of following what Derrick is doing, verbatim if that means pausing to follow along in whatever Adobe program he is using that really helped me work through these projects in this course. I’m excited to further what I learned and begin the Graphic Design Bootcamp: Advanced Training.
