I looked at many character drawing courses but this is the best. Well thought out and detailed. But overall, I like his drawing style best. A lot of details and information in the course that builds in a systematic way. It has many exercises in the course that could be better introduced, may be with a short video. His handwriting is awful so I suggest on screen typing. But these are small distractions.

It’s definitely better than it was at the very beginning, but only the last few lectures. Still waaaaaay too much theory, too much talking. A lot of repetitions and in general even something that is supposed to be fun to draw is very, very boring and I’m not encourage to draw at all 🙁 That’s the first course on Udemy where I’m doing a lot of skipping forward.

Very good for artists struggling with dynamic character compositions.
And a very good staring point for learning some proportions, but studying anatomy and exercising with more references/poses will make your fundamentals stronger over time.

Due to personal reasons I didn’t complete the corse right away but I was able to easily come back to it whenever I had the time which made it easier to recap previous models. The instructor was very clear and concise, the assignments really do help train you to get where you need to be.

The level of knowledge Scott Harris has is amazing. I clearly understood that drawing is not just about using canvas and pencils, but capturing moments as you see with your eyes and using that imagination to create something that is your own and magical. There is a lot of theory involved in drawing too which shows the difference between an amateur and a professional. If someone is really interested in drawing and art I can highly recommend this course to them.

Absolutely amazing course it describes everything you could possibly want to know as a beginner artist. I had this course for over three years and reference it from time to time when I still want to improve. There are many art course out there, free as well, but this one is just different. This one truly teaches you in a way that gives you foundation of understanding and the ability to grow, if not professionally, then as a hobby. easy 10/10 or 100/100 whatever you want it to be this course is absolute perfection. Buy it you won’t ever regret it.

I started this course knowing only how to draw a basic cube and now I can manage to actually create many of the characters I have in my head with different poses, clothing and facial expressions.
The way everything is explained is exactly in the way that I personally understand best, and the exercises that are provided allow you to practice and perfect the processes presented.
While I am far from the point where I want to be, this has been an incredible starting point and, overall I am extremely happy with this course and will definitely look into purchasing the other courses that are available.
