The font size in the terminal is way too big, scrolling through the long logs, very difficult to read. Even in the IDE the font size was bigger than I would like.
I hardly find this “complete”, for example, there wasn’t mentioned raw syntax at all. Also, I’m missing some nice summary of pros and cons when using NoSQL DBs. Complete guide to mongoose maybe, but definitely not to MongoDB, I was expecting way more for that perspective, not just coding.
We’re in 2022, why do we need to listen over and over again about old pre-es6 syntax? Just say it once at the beginning of the lecture that we’ll be using new JS syntax and that’s it. It was explained like 20 times during the course, the same thing again and again.
Lack of advanced topics, feels like the course was designed only for junior developers, it’s boring for everybody else.

Nice course, though some details are explained too sketchy.

Stephen is my favorite teacher on Udemy. I had taken a few of his courses and loved them all. He is a great teacher who gives clear deep explanations on topics needed. This mongo course though is way too outdated, a lot of things he is talking about are deprecated and things are done differently now. It was good about 4-6 years ago but not in 2022. It is not good for a beginner because it would be too confusing with all the deprecated stuff, no ES6 syntax and at the same time it is way too shallow for an intermediate student. I regret taking the course and wasting my time. Very sad not seeing anything about aggregations in mongo and many other things. This course needs rerecording. Do not waste your time taking in it 2022!

Amazing course to start learning MongoDB! It is a little outdated, but I was able to follow most of the course, just had to change a few things for the geoNear query in the last section

This course could use an update. Many things are now old or deprecated.
Though, I really enjoy Steve as an instructor.

Best for beginners , it required more updated content

Good course, wish it included more advanced topics relating to schema design with MongoDB. Especially on how to use a NoSQL database to implement an app.

its good for basics but not much more, course is outdated, no usage of async/await

Overall it’s good information but the course needs a bigger update. There are deprecated methods used that take some googling to fix. There is no one monitoring the Q&A section, but there is a kinda active discord channel that you can get help from. He does have some good visual aids in the videos to help cover complex ideas like associations.

Github repository have no updates since 2020

It’s a really thorough course, but it would be better with more advanced topics such as aggregation, and maybe covering more operators and their use cases. Also more debate on schema design with more examples. could use some best practices section as well.

It is new learning for me and it was able to learn easily.
