Great projects to work on and add more to on your own. Highly recommend if you’re trying to increase your knowledge of CSS and JavaScript.

This course includes many cool tricks that can be used in real life applications. The concept of 50 small projects is great for repeatedly practicing the basics to solidify your understanding on the common concepts of CSS and JS.
However, the instructor (while seemingly super knowledgeable) lacks in thoughtful explanations. There is too much of simple top-to-bottom typing (especially in CSS) rather than following a logical development process. It’s like building a house using a 3-d printer from one end to the other in one sweep, rather than in the logical order of, foundation, frames, pluming and wiring, roof, walls, flooring, painting, and final touches.

I love how easy you are to listen and how you don’t fill with extra fluff that is not needed. You explain where you need to explain and otherwise you keep moving on quickly.

I finished this course on 12/18/2022. When I purchased it a few weeks ago, I didn’t realize It’s actually been several years since it was published. There’s a fair amount of deprecated code and other code which simply no longer works. While a little frustrating, it was helpful to me in that it created challenges to fix the code and make it work. It seems like Brad has abandoned this course on Udemy and he doesn’t update or fix any broken or deprecated code. He also does not respond to the Q&A at all. I found the pace very frustrating at times as Brad flies through the projects at warp speed; Be prepared to stop and rewind quite a lot. There wasn’t even a goodbye/thank you/congrats at the end of the course. It just ends with Brad saying, “see you in the next project.” Brad’s great at JavaScript and I initially thought he wasn’t the best teacher for beginners until I purchased his prior course called 20 Web Projects with JavaScript. In that one, he explains everything, and I might have been better off doing that one first.

A minor forewarning; Brad doesn’t use semi-colons at all and seems to disdain any syntax conventions that aren’t absolutely required. So don’t expect self-documenting code. There’s some explanation of why he’s doing one thing or another, and he gives enough detail so it’s understandable, but I still have questions about some of his techniques that are still not clear to me. I recommend this course for intermediate JavaScript coders willing to take the time to fix anything broken over time and make each project your own and change it up.

Good course. I started my programming journey 1.5 years ago and this course helped me understand both the basics and some things that i didn’t understand.

Great way to get better at javascript and css. I do wish some of the why’s of what is happening were explained more.

This has been an awesome course. I took this course so that I can build some random components each day to practice my coding skills, however, this course has helped me not only do that but I learned a lot of ne things which I did not initially know. I also build some awesome projects which were very fun to build. Great course, would highly recommend to anyone trying to improve their skills or just have fun!

As a programming beginner, I wondered how the magic effects on the screen were made for a long time, and this course definitely gave me the answers. The projects were great and inspiring, with good explanations of vanilla HTML/CSS/JS. Would highly recommend this course!

There are about 10-12 proper beginner projects in this course. Calling the others “projects” is a bit of a stretch (a fixed navbar or an image carousel isn’t a project in and of itself). However, for beginners who want to do stuff but lack ideas this is a great place to start. You’ll definitely get your bang for the buck and you’ll also get to learn some cool and useful stuff. My advice is to look at each chapter’s intro clip and do it on your own (no code-along). You’ll get more out of struggling a bit and it will make a nice (and very personal) addition to your portfolio.

If you are beginner to javascript, it definitely helps you improve. One downside of the course is that Brad is very fast (as there is 50 of them) through projects and some explanations go missing. But overall this course is of the nice project courses you can find on udemy.
